Get Baptized
The Bible teaches us that when we're ready to put our faith and trust in Jesus, the next step for us is to get baptized!
We get it - baptism may seem confusing. That is why we’ve pulled out some highlights to give you some clarity on what baptism actually means.
-
Baptism isn’t wierd and it doesn’t feel wierd. It’s a public act that symbolises your faith in Jesus: your old life is gone, and your new life in Christ has begun.
“We were…buried with Him through baptism into death…that we too may life a new life.” - Romans 6:4
“Go therefore and make disciples of many all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” - Matthew 28:19
-
Baptism is going under the water and coming back up, as a picture of your new life in Jesus. Just as Jesus died, was buried, and rose again - baptism shows that your old life is gone and you are now living a new life in Him. It’s a public way of saying, “I believe in Jesus.”
“We were buried with Him through baptism…” - Romans 6:4
“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.” - 2 Corinthians 5:17
-
It’s not about age - it’s about being able to truly know Jesus for yourself. The right time to get baptized is when your faith in Jesus is personal, and you trust in Him as your Lord and Savior.
“By grace you have been saved, through faith…” Ephesians 2:8-9
“Those who believed…were baptized.” - Acts 2:41
-
You’re ready when you truly believe Jesus died for your sins, rose again, and that you want to followHim with your life. You don’t need to be perfect - you just need to be real and surrendered.
“If you declare…’Jesus is Lord,’ and believe…you will be saved.” - Romans 10:9
“Take up your cross and follow me.” - Matthew 16:24
-
Baptism is the starting line, not the finish line. From here, you grow in your relationship with Jesus, and walk in a greater authority that can only come from being a follower of Jesus.
“Continue to live your lives in Him…” - Colossians 2:6-7
“He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” - Philippians 1:6
